Job Summary: Corporate Services works with large organisations deploying and using the Ubuntu platform. We focus on helping customers maximise the benefits of our technology, services and partner ecosystem. We are looking for a business development leader who can expand and drive forward our sales in the corporate sector.
You will have responsibility for shaping and implementing business development strategies to penetrate the corporate market. Ensuring that our business and revenue goals are met by leading the business development team. As part of your day to day activities you will direct the activities of the business development team, monitoring and driving sales activity. Additionally, you will work closely with the team on major opportunities, developing and closing opportunities with the key decision makers.
We are looking for a proven corporate business development leader who has a hands-on attitude and is capable of working at both a strategic and tactical level. You must have a sense of urgency, be energetic, able to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment.
Reports To: Director of Corporate Services
Key responsibilities:
- Departmental Leadership
- Create and execute a business development plan focused on sales growth
- Drive continuous improvements to departmental processes and service delivery
- Develop and manage the corporate business development team as the business expands
- Business Development
- Work closely with the marketing department to develop the proposition and align with marketing programmes aimed at the target segment
- Build the visibility of Canonicals services and technology within corporate organisations
- Provide leadership to identify, build and develop prospects
- Negotiate and close major opportunities in support of the business development team
- Team Management
- Monitor, manage and lead the team to develop and drive sales
- Coordinate with other teams within the business to ensure departmental goals are met
Requirements:
- A strong track record of business development at a senior/executive level taking technology services and/or software to corporate organisations
- Excellent leadership and management skills, preferably in a fast moving technology company
- Outstanding solution sales skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels
- Experience in contract drafting, negotiation and administration
- A strongly driven character with a sense of urgency who can lead and motivate others
- Excellent communications and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation
